
Tammy Sneed is the Director of Community Solutions for Altus Solutions, where she leads multi-state initiatives through the Engage Together® Project to strengthen community responses to human trafficking and support vulnerable populations. With more than 35 years of experience in child advocacy, juvenile justice, and trauma-informed systems development, Tammy has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for high-risk youth and survivors of exploitation. She has developed multiple curricula on working with adolescents, 13 specialized curricula on human trafficking, nationally recognized standards for programs serving adolescent girls, and a screening tool for youth at risk of or confirmed victims of labor and sex trafficking that is utilized by numerous states across the country. Tammy also developed a specialized foster care model for youth at high risk of or confirmed victims of human trafficking, has mentored foster families serving some of the most vulnerable children and youth, and transformed a small nonprofit into a multi-million-dollar organization serving the most vulnerable children and youth across Connecticut.
Previously, Tammy served for over 20 years with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families as Director of Connecticut’s Human Anti-Trafficking Response Team (HART), Director of the Office of Human Trafficking Services and co-chair of the Governor’s Task Force on Justice for Abused Children. She has trained professionals across nearly all 50 states and presented before the U.S. Senate, federal agencies, and national conferences. Tammy is also a foster/adoptive parent, mentor, national consultant, and advocate committed to building collaborative systems that protect and empower vulnerable children, youth, and families.
